Great question from Ashley!
I personally get at LEAST four papers. Sometimes you'll need multiple coupons to get larger quantity deals. Here is an example of why you need more than one.
This week at Rite Aid, Purex 3-in-1 sheets were buy one get one free for $7.99. Rite Aid's coupon policy is to accept 1 coupon per item, even if it's a buy one get one free sale.
This week, there is a $3 off Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets. If you bought two papers, then you have two $3 coupons. $7.99 - $3 Q - $3 Q = 1.99 for TWO
In previous posts, I've gotten toothpaste and axe body spray for SUPER cheap. I wouldn't have been able to do this without multiple coupons.
Many people order coupons from www.couponsthingsbydede.com when they get word of deals far, far in advance. Coupons usually sell for about 10 percent of their face value. However, you must order at least $3 in coupons before they will sell them to you, and as it's just ME in my household, the 4-6 papers I buy each week are enough to suffice my needs and wants. Some people buy tons and tons and tons to add to their stockpile, and don't leave any or very much left in the store for others to buy. That's not proper coupon etiquette. I don't clear the shelves unless there's only a few of the items left.
So to answer the original question. 4 is a good number to buy. If a deal is coming up that you think you need a crap ton of, you can order from Coupons and Things by DeDe. You just better hope the store won't limit the number of items you can purchase.
